Frank Martell
Thank you, Gerhard, and thank you all for joining us today. I look forward to sharing my perspectives on market conditions, our results and our outlook.
As all of you know, 2022 was a year of dramatic volatility and extreme challenge for the mortgage and broader housing markets. Virtually no part of the housing ecosystem was left unaffected as participants in the housing market grappled with substantial and rapid increases in home and the cost of home loans. This was compounded by the cumulative impact of significant home price appreciation over the last four to five years, driven by structural supply-demand imbalances as well as the depressive impact of high inflation on available household incomes.
